Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday
But I realized some bigger dreams of mine
And Abigail gave everything she had to a boy

The reason I like this song is because it is nearly exactly how I felt when I was 15. For me, 15 was a very weird year - my mom and I argued constantly, I was really getting into boys, it was the only year that I wasn't completely involved in music 24/7, etc. (for me, it was Sophomore year, not freshman, but whatever). I highlighted in bold my favorite lines at the end of each chorus... I especially like the part about "this is life before you know who you're supposed to be..." because oh my goodness, yes! At that age, you seriously think that you're an adult - or at least nearly and everything is dramatic and life is such a big deal, but when you look back you are like "I was such a child, such a different person then." I cringe to think of myself at that age, and I'm so glad that I got past it. (I have a friend who often still lives her life like she's in high school, or at least like she's still living in the sorority house in college and wow! I'm like - isn't it time to grow up? You're 30 now!" but I digress...)
